Inbound vs outbound calls: direction is only the first label
An inbound call arrives at the business; an outbound call is placed by it. Direction alone does not explain the purpose, authorization or owner of the customer request.

Label direction and purpose separately
An inbound caller might seek a new estimate, change a visit or ask about completed work. An outbound call might be an expected return call about that same request. Neither direction tells you whether the customer is new.
Use two fields: call direction and request purpose. Keep a separate request reference so an incoming inquiry and the later return call remain connected without being counted as two opportunities.

Plan an expected callback
Fictional case: a customer asks the office to return a call about an estimate. Give the responsible colleague the request reference, the unresolved question and the approved contact details. Check what they can actually answer.
Original opening: “This is the service office returning your request about the estimate. Is this a suitable time to discuss the question you left?” Do not disclose job details before following the business’s identity-check process.

Record the result, including no contact
Distinguish customer reached, message left, incorrect contact detail and unresolved attempt. A dialed number does not show that the person received an answer. If another attempt is appropriate, assign its owner through the business’s approved process.
This is an office record model for expected customer contact, not a cold-calling plan or permission to automate outreach. Have the responsible owner review any proposed outbound program separately.

Evaluate the actual answering offer
A service that receives calls does not automatically place callbacks or run campaigns. Ask about the precise purchased scope, supported channels and records. Keep incoming coverage and outgoing work in separate comparison rows.
Revo’s Services and Pricing define its published answering offer. This guide does not establish outbound dialing, campaign automation or a callback feature.
Common questions
Make the next step clear.
Resolve the details that matter to your team and callers.
Is an outbound call always a sales call?
No. It can concern an existing service request or another authorized purpose.
Does call direction determine whether a lead is qualified?
No. Qualification depends on the business’s criteria and supporting information.
