Sales performance dashboard: follow estimates to decisions

A sales performance dashboard should show what happened to potential work over a defined period. For a service business, separate inquiries, estimates, decisions and completed jobs before calculating a rate.

Define the cohort before the chart

Choose a population such as estimates issued in one calendar month. Record the inclusion rule and observation date. An estimate issued late in the month may still be undecided when the report is reviewed.

Use an original dashboard ledger with opportunity reference, issued estimate version, issue date, decision state, decision evidence and next owner. Do not place repeat calls in the opportunity count.

Keep open work visible

Show accepted, declined, withdrawn and unresolved estimates using the business’s defined statuses. Preserve unknown outcomes rather than silently assigning them to lost. Identify estimates that were replaced by another version.

A simple illustrative rate is accepted estimates divided by estimates in the explicitly stated eligible cohort. Label the denominator and the handling of open cases. The example is a reporting design, not an industry benchmark.

Separate the decision from later fulfillment

Accepted work may still need scheduling, materials or another authorized step. A completed appointment does not necessarily establish completed work or collected payment. Let the relevant system supply the evidence for each event.

Compare the same cohort after an appropriate observation period. If the offer, service area or available capacity changed, record that context before explaining why the result moved.

Make the dashboard support an action

Add an unresolved-estimates list with an owner and a supported next action. A chart that looks healthy while old requests have no owner does not solve the office’s follow-up problem.

This page concerns estimate decisions; the lead-generation guide concerns acquisition. Revo’s Services and Pricing do not establish a sales dashboard, revenue attribution or automatic opportunity updates.

Common questions

Make the next step clear.

Resolve the details that matter to your team and callers.

Should repeat calls increase the lead count?

Keep contact events separate from distinct inquiries or opportunities according to the documented counting rule.

Can an accepted estimate be reported as revenue?

Use the responsible financial record and business reporting rules; acceptance alone does not establish revenue or payment.
