Business KPIs: make a service-office measure interpretable
Business KPIs are selected measures used to assess progress toward a defined operating goal. A service office should state the population, event and observation period before treating a number as useful evidence.

Start with an operational question
Choose a question such as “Which unresolved customer requests are getting older?” rather than a broad goal such as “improve service.” Identify the record that can answer it and who maintains that record.
Use an original measure card: question; included population; event counted; time window; exclusions; source; owner; action when reviewed. If a field is missing, label that limitation instead of filling it with a favorable assumption.

Example one: unresolved-request age
For each open request, calculate elapsed time from the business’s defined start event to the observation time. Decide how reopened requests and waiting-for-customer periods are represented. Keep the definition consistent.
Inspect the oldest requests with their owners and reasons. An average can hide one very old request. This is a proposed office measure, not a response-time target or an industry service-level benchmark.

Example two: correction and rework
Count requests requiring a correction under a documented rule, such as a property detail corrected after handoff. State the eligible population and avoid counting several notes about one correction as several affected requests.
Review the underlying evidence before assigning a cause. A correction can reflect new customer information rather than an avoidable mistake. Keep the measure useful for process improvement instead of inventing a staff ranking.

Connect review to an owned action
Select a bounded action such as clarifying one status phrase or changing who reviews incomplete requests. Record when it was applied and what later evidence will be inspected. A changed KPI does not by itself prove the action caused it.
The sales dashboard follows estimate decisions; call monitoring reviews interactions. This page defines wider office measures. Revo’s Services and Pricing do not establish custom KPI reporting or automatic attribution.
Common questions
Make the next step clear.
Resolve the details that matter to your team and callers.
Should every available number become a KPI?
Select measures that answer a defined question and support a decision someone owns.
Can two teams compare a rate with different denominators?
Explain and reconcile the definitions before interpreting the comparison.
Keep the definition beside the number and the owner beside the action.
