Answer KC: Choose Live Reception or Voicemail Assistance

Answer Kansas City, also identified as AnswerKC, serves mechanical-service businesses including plumbing, HVAC, electrical and general contracting. Its website describes two different ways a caller can enter the service: full live answering and voicemail with Live Agent Assist.

Updated · Published by Revo

Those are different purchase choices. Before comparing a monthly price, decide whether your routine callers should reach a person or leave a recorded message.

Separate the two caller-entry paths

Answer Kansas City describes full telephone answering, remote reception and a voicemail option in which routine calls stay in voicemail while callers with urgent or emergency needs receive live-agent assistance. That description does not establish how every caller selects the assisted path, what qualifies for it or how it is billed.

Ask for the exact caller experience before signing. Do callers hear a menu, choose an option or reach a person another way? What happens if they do not select anything? An assisted voicemail path is not evidence of AI detection, medical triage or a guaranteed technician response.

Purchase choiceEstablish before choosingDo not assume
Full live answeringWhich routine inquiries agents handle and what records they produceEvery request becomes a booking or accepted job
Remote receptionTransfer destinations, permitted hours and no-answer behaviorA transfer means someone accepted responsibility
Voicemail with Live Agent AssistCaller entry, agent availability, message access and exception processThe standard answering tariff automatically applies
Added chat or language coverageEligible plan, availability, usage treatment and chargesA phone plan includes every other channel or language

For a service office, this decision comes before price arithmetic. A less expensive entry path is not equivalent if it leaves routine inquiries waiting for an office callback that the team cannot reliably provide.

Read standard answering prices in their own unit

The official pricing page lists standard answering plans with monthly included minutes and additional-minute rates. Two published examples are Pay As You Go at $90 with 20 minutes and $1.75 per additional minute, and Small Business at $161 with 85 minutes and $1.15 per additional minute.

For an illustrative month containing exactly 100 billable minutes, those listed base and additional-minute charges would be $230 for Pay As You Go and $178.25 for Small Business. The arithmetic is $90 + 80 × $1.75 and $161 + 15 × $1.15. These are examples, not quotes, and exclude any other applicable charges. They assume the same workload actually produces 100 billable minutes under the purchased terms.

These standard-plan figures do not establish a tariff for Voicemail with Live Agent Assist. Request a separate price and usage definition for that configuration. Do not use a voicemail-heavy workload to estimate standard live-agent minutes without knowing which activities are billable.

Keep the billing calendar and exceptions visible

The site specifies 12 monthly bills, not 28-day billing. Its footnote lists additional holiday, non-English-language and live-chat fees. Confirm the actual charges despite broader availability wording elsewhere. Chat’s published add-on eligibility begins at Most Popular or higher; ask how its usage consumes the allowance.

A quoted base amount is useful only alongside its calendar and exceptions. Record those details before deciding whether one configuration fits the office’s budget.

Use a call-path and quote worksheet

Complete one copy for each configuration under consideration. The purpose is to connect a price to the actual work the office wants completed.

A completed worksheet may show that the office needs full answering for new inquiries but can use its own recorded-message process for another category. Confirm whether the provider can supply the proposed arrangement; the worksheet itself does not establish a supported configuration.

Compare the supported work with Revo

Revo provides AI reception rather than Answer Kansas City’s live-agent service. Its current pricing lists appointment booking and configured scripts, hours and rules; team transfers depend on the selected plan. Revo is not described here as supplying an external human agent for a voicemail-assist path.

Use identical test inquiries when evaluating either purchased service. Check whether the final record shows a requested callback, a requested appointment or a confirmed booking. Keep those outcomes separate from a technician’s acceptance of field work. These are suggested evaluation checks, not results measured by Revo or a claim that either provider completes every scenario.

Frequently asked questions

Is Answer KC only for Kansas City businesses?

The reviewed site describes US-based agents and mechanical-service coverage. Confirm eligibility for your business and any location-specific requirements directly; the brand name alone is not a service-area contract.

Are the listed standard prices the price of Live Agent Assist?

The reviewed pages do not establish that. Request the separate configuration’s tariff and what counts toward its usage.

Does 24/7 availability mean no holiday charges?

No. The pricing page’s additional-fee footnote includes holidays. Confirm the purchased terms rather than inferring inclusion from availability.

Is the lowest base price necessarily the least expensive plan?

No. Included minutes, additional usage and applicable charges affect the result. Compare the same workload under each plan’s actual billing rules.
