Home-service buying guide
AnswerHero Answering Service: Human, AI or Hybrid?
AnswerHero offers three ways to answer your business phone: human receptionists, AI receptionists and a hybrid arrangement. A home-service owner should choose the handling model before comparing the monthly amount. The same caller may create different work and different charges under each arrangement.
Updated · Published by Revo
Revo publishes this guide and offers a competing AI answering service. This is a review of public documentation, checked on October 30, 2026. We did not purchase AnswerHero or conduct test calls. Prices and ambiguities below describe the pages reviewed, not a quote for your account.
Start with the actual AnswerHero product
The official rate card separates the offers. Its human Starter plan displays $79 per month with 50 minutes and $1.89 per additional minute. The AI-only card displays $19 per month and $0.79 for additional minutes, but does not show a numeric included allowance in the version reviewed. Do not fill that blank with the human plan's allowance.
The hybrid Starter card displays $90 per month, 50 minutes, $1.89 per AI minute and $1.89 per additional human minute. Other hybrid cards display $0.79 per AI minute. Treat that AI-rate difference as a question requiring confirmation. Do not silently correct the Starter card or use the lower figure to promise a saving.
| Proposed arrangement | What the buyer must establish |
|---|---|
| Human reception | Which requested tasks the staffed plan includes, and what counts toward its minutes |
| AI-only reception | The included allowance, chargeable time and outcome when the AI cannot complete the request |
| Hybrid reception | Which minutes belong to which handling stage, who supplies the human and how the stages are charged |
Ask for one call to be priced from beginning to end
Use a fictional residential service inquiry. The caller asks whether the company serves an address, requests an estimate and then asks to speak with the office. Have AnswerHero identify the resulting message, appointment or transfer, and the charge associated with each stage.
Its pricing FAQ describes quarter-minute rounding and a $0.06-per-minute charge for transferred calls. Confirm how those statements apply to the particular human, AI or hybrid offer you are considering. A general FAQ does not settle whether every handling stage shares an allowance.
Copy this quote record and leave unresolved fields blank:
| Field | Written answer for your selected plan |
|---|---|
| Exact product and plan | |
| Recurring amount and billing period | |
| Included human minutes | |
| Included AI minutes | |
| Rate and rounding for each additional stage | |
| Transfer destination, charge and no-answer outcome | |
| Supported booking system and record created | |
| Person responsible for requests left unresolved |
Use the completed record rather than a calculation built from mismatched cards. This is particularly important when a longer intake, a transfer and a callback are separate activities.
Check the booking result and exit process
For a roofing estimate or a plumbing service request, ask the supplier to show what reaches your office. A message containing a preferred time is different from an appointment entered in the authoritative calendar. Neither proves that a technician accepted the work. Obtain the supported software, permissions and task in writing rather than relying on a general integration label.
AnswerHero advertises no contracts, while its FAQ describes notice 30 days before the end of the billing cycle. Read the applicable terms and obtain the actual cancellation process. Marketing language does not remove subscription conditions. This guide does not interpret enforceability or replace review of your agreement.
When another handling model may fit better
A staffed AnswerHero offer merits consideration if your requirement is a supplier-provided person handling the agreed conversation. The AI-only offer requires its own evaluation; do not assume that buying it automatically supplies the hybrid service.
Revo can be evaluated for its published incoming-call answering, intake, supported booking and summaries. Team transfers and other features depend on the selected plan and configuration. This guide does not establish that Revo supplies outsourced human receptionists or an AnswerHero connection. Keep technical assessment, estimate approval and field-service commitments with the people your business authorizes.
Frequently asked questions
Is the $19 AnswerHero card a complete all-in monthly quote?
The reviewed card also lists usage pricing and leaves the numeric included allowance unspecified. Request the full offer before calculating a bill.
Should I assume all hybrid AI minutes cost $0.79?
No. The Starter card displays a different AI rate. Ask AnswerHero to confirm the applicable rate and allowance in writing.
Does transferring a caller guarantee the office accepts the request?
No. Establish the recipient, availability and unresolved-call outcome separately from the connection itself.
