Answering service money-back guarantees: compare what can actually be returned

A money-back guarantee can reduce a purchase risk, but its headline does not tell you which charges are refundable. Before paying an answering provider, identify the exact offer, the covered amount and the process for requesting a refund.

Updated · Published by Revo

Published by Revo, a competing provider. This is a buying worksheet, not legal advice or a promise of a Revo refund. If a money-back guarantee is a mandatory requirement, obtain applicable written terms before choosing any provider.

Separate four different promises

A free trial concerns access before or during a defined evaluation. Cancellation concerns ending future service. A service credit reduces a later charge under stated conditions. A refund returns an eligible payment. None automatically establishes the others.

Phone.com's AI receptionist page advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee while describing its AI product as an add-on to a phone plan. Ask which purchase and charges the applicable policy covers rather than assuming the add-on and the whole account have identical treatment.

Smith.ai's published guarantee FAQ discusses eligibility, a refund cap and excluded overage charges. Its named plans and timing language need reconciliation with the offer you are buying. Do not apply an older help article to a different current plan without written confirmation.

Complete a refundable-budget worksheet

QuestionRecord from the applicable offer
Who qualifies?New-account requirement, selected product and any excluded plan
When does the clock start?Purchase, activation or another event explicitly stated in the policy
What payment is covered?Subscription, setup, add-ons and usage listed separately
Is there a cap?The maximum refundable amount and how it applies
What remains excluded?Overage, taxes or other charges only where the policy actually says so
How is the request made?Required destination, deadline, information and confirmation

For a fictional purchase, suppose $150 is paid and the confirmed policy covers $100 while excluding $50 of usage. The maximum refund in that example is $100, not $150. This illustrates the worksheet; it is not a supplier's policy or a customer outcome.

Keep the purchase decision separate from the refund request

Use the written scope to decide whether the exposure is acceptable before connecting business calls. Retain the selected offer and a dated record of any clarification. If the pricing page and policy conflict, ask the supplier to resolve the conflict rather than combining favorable sentences from each.

Our free-trial acceptance guide covers evaluating call handling. This worksheet covers money already paid and the portion the applicable policy may return.

Does cancellation guarantee a refund?

No. Check the actual refund conditions separately.

Does this establish a Revo money-back guarantee?

No. Review Revo's current plans and applicable terms. Do not buy on the assumption that a competitor's guarantee also applies to Revo.
