Reception buying decisions
Choose an AI receptionist voice by auditioning the whole conversation
The best AI voice for handling virtual reception tasks must be understandable in the calls your business actually receives. A polished greeting is only the beginning. Before buying, listen to how the configured receptionist handles a corrected number, an unfamiliar street name and a caller who changes their request.

Separate a voice option from a completed reception task
RingCentral AI Receptionist documents multiple professional voice options and provides demonstrations. Allo's AI receptionist page identifies ElevenLabs voices and includes demonstration clips. These establish published options and examples, not that one voice will outperform another for your callers.
A voice engine alone is not a complete answering service. Check the actual reception product, its supported business instructions and the resulting message or appointment. Do not buy a developer tool expecting a configured front desk unless that service is explicitly included.
Bring this audition sheet
Use fictional details and the same request for every supplier. Ask permission to use the supplier's demonstration environment; do not place fabricated jobs into a real business account.
| Test | What to listen for | What to inspect afterward |
|---|---|---|
| A corrected callback number | The correction is acknowledged without leaving the caller unsure which number was retained | The final summary contains the corrected fictional number |
| An unfamiliar street name | The handler asks for clarification instead of confidently substituting another address | The uncertainty is resolved or clearly recorded |
| A change from repair to estimate request | The response follows the corrected purpose | The final task reflects the request the caller actually made |
| A question outside the approved information | The response explains the next step without inventing an answer | The unresolved question reaches its owner |
Mark each result as observed, unclear or not supported. Keep your notes about intelligibility separate from whether the correct task reached the office. Do not report a latency score or accuracy percentage unless you actually measured it using a defined method.
Ask what you are allowed to change
Confirm which voices the selected account includes, which languages are supported and who can change the selection. Do not infer voice cloning, a custom accent or an unrestricted voice editor from a personalized greeting. If a specific voice or language is mandatory, obtain evidence before buying.
Revo's published business instructions do not establish custom voice selection. Hear the available Revo sample and review current plans, then confirm the supported configuration rather than assuming a feature from another provider's documentation.
Does a natural voice prove correct booking?
No. Inspect the resulting booking or request separately.
Can a recorded demo establish performance for my office?
It can illustrate a flow. It does not establish how your configured account will handle every caller or condition.
