Reception buying decisions
Residential property management answering services: a buying shortlist
A residential property manager needs to know which property and unit a call concerns, whether the caller is a prospect or an existing tenant, and who owns the next decision. Choose an answering offer by that record and handoff, rather than assuming every real-estate service includes maintenance coordination.

Compare the type of reception you are buying
| Provider | Published offer to investigate | Best question for a residential manager |
|---|---|---|
| PATLive | Live answering marketed to property managers and their prospects and tenants | Which maintenance details and escalation steps are included in the actual instructions? |
| AnswerConnect | Live property-management reception and scheduling offer | What is handled by the answering team and what remains with the property office? |
| ReceptionHQ | Property-related live reception with service options | Which plan covers the required intake, hours and scheduling task, including any additional charges? |
| Revo | AI intake, supported booking and summaries; transfers depend on plan | Can the approved routine flow capture your identifiers and deliver the required office handoff? |
A supplier category page is a reason to request a demonstration, not evidence of your property-system connection, response time or emergency outcome.
Use one residential call record for every demonstration
Supply fictional details and ask the provider to show the record that reaches your office.
| Call type | Information and outcome to evaluate |
|---|---|
| Prospective resident | Property requested, contact details, inquiry and supported appointment/request outcome |
| Existing resident, routine request | Property address, unit, caller contact, stated issue and responsible recipient |
| Existing request update | Available reference and the question for the authorized office employee; no invented status |
| Request outside ordinary scope | Agreed handoff and visible unresolved work; no unverified diagnosis or dispatch promise |
Property and unit details are intake information, not proof of identity or authorization to disclose tenant records. Do not provide unnecessary access codes, financial information or sensitive tenant details during a sales test.
Establish who actually acts after answering
Ask who acknowledges a maintenance request, authorizes access, selects a contractor and confirms an arrival. If the answering provider performs an active escalation process, document its scope and charges separately. If your team performs it, name that owner and its unavailable-recipient process.
Revo should be evaluated for supported routine reception, not as a property-management system, rent-payment processor, tenant verification system or active emergency-dispatch service. A requirement for those functions may call for a different arrangement. A captured request is not a completed repair.
