Landscape scheduling software: jobs, crews and changes
Landscape scheduling software should help your business place the right work on the right team’s schedule. A customer appointment, a crew assignment and a route are related but different records. Compare tools against an actual operating problem before choosing a long feature list.

Separate the schedule objects
Write down the customer, service property, job, visit, assigned team and required equipment for a fictional working day. A recurring maintenance agreement may produce many visits. A one-time installation may require several days and different resources. Do not assume one calendar entry represents every part of the work.
Use an original selection worksheet with these columns: task; authoritative record; required resource; scheduling constraint; person allowed to change it; and customer message. Mark unknown behavior for demonstration rather than treating a feature label as proof.

Test a day with travel and equipment constraints
Fictional example: Team A has two maintenance visits and Team B has an installation. A shared piece of equipment is available to only one team at a time. Ask the vendor to demonstrate assignments and changes using invented properties and travel allowances chosen by your business.
Inspect whether the proposed tool exposes a resource conflict, merely permits a warning or allows a dispatcher to override it. Record the observed result. This is a test design, not a claim that a named product calculates routes, travel times or equipment availability automatically.
A customer-facing opening can be misleading when the crew cannot reach the property or lacks the needed resource. Evaluate the capacity your operation actually uses, not only empty time on a calendar.

Compare recurring work and weather changes
Use three separate cases: move one maintenance visit; change the future cadence; and postpone a day of work because the authorized manager decided conditions require it. Inspect which visits move and which stay unchanged. A one-visit change should not silently rewrite the entire service agreement.
For a weather-related change, ask how the office identifies affected customers, assigns the revised work and tracks questions that remain unanswered. A moved job does not prove that the customer was informed. Do not assume a weather feed, route optimizer or notification system is included without seeing it in the proposed package.

Check office-to-field ownership
Define who accepts a new inquiry, who estimates the work, who confirms the visit and who assigns the crew. Ask what field staff can see and update, including what happens when a device has no connection. Require a demonstration before depending on offline access or synchronization.
Compare the same fictional job through creation, crew reassignment and cancellation. Record the final property, visit, resource assignment and unresolved action. Obtain current package limits and commercial terms directly; this article does not supply product rankings or unverified prices.

Keep answering and dispatch as separate purchases
An answering arrangement may collect a request or perform a supported booking action. That does not establish crew scheduling, route planning, equipment allocation or weather-based rescheduling. Decide which system and office role own each of those tasks.
Revo’s existing landscaping-answering guide covers receiving calls while the office is busy. Services and Pricing explain the answering offer. This selection worksheet does not claim Revo is landscape management software or connects to a named scheduling platform. Use it to define the handoff a proposed answering setup must respect.
Common questions
Make the next step clear.
Resolve the details that matter to your team and callers.
Is landscape scheduling just appointment booking?
No. Crew, property, equipment and travel constraints may remain after a customer appointment is created. Define which records your operation needs.
Should a weather change move every future recurring visit?
Only if that is the authorized intended change. Test a single occurrence and a series change separately.
Use the examples with your own office process and confirm the next action before making a commitment.
