My Receptionist pricing: confirm the billing period and scheduling scope
My Receptionist publishes minute packages, but its displayed prices are labeled “per billing period,” not per calendar month. Its feature page also says pricing varies with the service scope. Before comparing a package with another answering service, resolve both the period and the work you expect the receptionists to complete.

This guide concerns My Receptionist at myreceptionist.com. ReceptionHQ also uses the name MyReceptionist for a service in some markets; that is not the provider or price table reviewed here. Published minute packages
| Package | Displayed charge per billing period | Included receptionist minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $110 | 70 |
| Cruising | $195 | 150 |
| Express | $275 | 235 |
The page lists a $90 setup charge. It refers to plan-based per-minute overage but does not state the exact excess-minute rates or period length in the reviewed table. Request both in writing. The listed features include screening, live transfers and message delivery; this is not proof that every scheduling or reminder task is included at the same price. My Receptionist pricing options
Do not turn “billing period” into “month” for a price comparison. A shorter recurring period would produce a different annual total, but the reviewed evidence does not establish that My Receptionist uses a particular shorter cycle. Leave the conversion open until the provider confirms it.
Separate answering minutes from the broader service scope
My Receptionist’s feature page describes online scheduling, appointment reminders and secure messaging, with pricing dependent on the scope. Its process page describes forwarding calls to the service, receptionist handling and delivery of information through selected channels. Features and add-ons and how the service works
Ask for an answering-only quote and a quote that includes the additional tasks you actually need. That does not mean those tasks necessarily carry separate fees. It means the proposal should explicitly state whether they are included, optional or outside scope.
For a cleaning or restoration office, the difference could be between recording a request for an estimate and managing an appointment in an authorized scheduling system. If your office only needs the first outcome, avoid assuming it needs a broader package. If it needs the second, do not rely on a message-taking feature list as proof of the complete workflow.
Build a two-part quote record
Use this original worksheet to preserve what the published offer establishes and what the seller still needs to answer.
| Part of the proposal | Published starting point | Written answer to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| Base package | Named plan, charge and minute allowance | Exact start/end dates of one billing period; renewal basis |
| Excess usage | Plan-dependent overage referenced | Rate, rounding and chargeable activities |
| Setup | Setup charge listed | What work it covers and whether proposed changes add charges |
| Scheduling | Described as an available service | Software, actor, allowed operations and inclusion or additional fee |
| Reminders | Described as an available service | Who initiates the reminder, channel, usage treatment and scope |
| Message delivery | Channels described in service material | Selected destination, access and any separately quoted service |
Write the quote date beside the answers. If a salesperson resolves a term verbally, request it in the proposal rather than carrying a remembered assumption into your budget.
Keep the billing calendar explicit
Ask for the first service period, invoice date and next renewal date. Then compare providers over the same time horizon. Use the seller’s exact allowance reset rule; do not assume unused minutes roll forward.
A useful quote records base charges, usage and optional services separately. If the provider bundles them, retain the bundle description instead of counting the same service twice. Unknown charges should remain unknown, not silently become zero.
Keep the appointment work explicit
Have the seller identify what happens when the caller asks to book, move or cancel an appointment. Request the system and role used for each action. A broad calendar-management claim is not evidence that your specific software permits those actions through the proposed account.
The purpose here is to establish what you are buying. Use the existing appointment-booking guide for your office’s booking rules rather than rebuilding those rules in the price quote.
Demonstrate the added work before accepting the added scope
Ask for an authorized demonstration using fictional customer DEMO-MR-01. First request basic answering and message delivery. Then ask for the proposed scheduling task. Record which part of the service changes and how the seller says each part is charged.
| Demonstration | Record to inspect | Commercial question | Observed result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Answer and deliver an estimate inquiry | Message and destination | Which handling time uses the allowance? | ___ |
| Perform the quoted scheduling action | Appointment or pending-request reference | Is this included in the package or separately scoped? | ___ |
| Send a quoted reminder, if required | Authorized reminder record | How are initiation, attempts and usage treated? | ___ |
These are proposed purchasing demonstrations, not completed tests. Leave a task unverified if the vendor cannot demonstrate it safely. Do not send reminders to real customers merely to test a quote.
My Receptionist’s public signup form separately collects office hours and delivery preferences and notes email/text delivery for off-hours or unanswered contact. Confirm how that instruction applies to your selected handoff. Do not confuse reception availability with your staff accepting a transferred call. My Receptionist signup instructions
Do not substitute another brand’s commercial terms
My Receptionist has described Always Answer as a companion service. That relationship does not make their packages or quoted terms interchangeable. If a proposal moves you to another service, ask which company and package will provide the work and which price schedule applies. My Receptionist’s description of the companion service
Keep the My Receptionist quote tied to its own period, allowance and task scope rather than importing terms from a companion brand.
Compare the complete proposal
My Receptionist belongs in a live-service evaluation when its quoted answering and appointment work fit your office. The purchase decision should use the confirmed billing period, actual task permissions and written excess-usage terms, not an assumed monthly price.
