The allowance changes the meaning of the starting price

The published Basic plan is $29/month with zero included minutes and $1.25 per minute. Standard is $149 with 125 minutes and $1.20 overage; Premium is $299 with 250 and $1.18 overage; Elite is $549 with 500 and $1.15 overage. Each lists a $75 setup and education fee. These are dated published rates, not an account quote.

Short calls can consume a full billable minute

The pricing FAQ defines billable time as activity on the account and says activity rounds up to the next whole minute. It gives a 23-second example billed as one minute. A home-service office with many brief appointment confirmations therefore needs chargeable activity records, not just total connected talk time.

For an illustrative 100 billable minutes, Basic is $154 and Standard is $149 before setup and other applicable charges. The larger base fee is $5 cheaper in that limited scenario. This calculation assumes those published rules apply; it does not estimate your actual call mix.

Check the arithmetic as well as the plan

The same page’s 300-minute Premium example prints a total that does not match its formula. Using its stated inputs gives $299 + 50 × $1.18 = $358, not the printed $350.18. Treat the rate table and your written proposal as inputs to an independent calculation.

For an HVAC office, review how administrative work, unsuccessful transfers and rounding appear on the invoice. A confirmed appointment, a transfer attempt and an account update may have different operating value even when all consume billable activity.

Common questions

Resolve the details that matter to your team and callers.

Does $29 include an allowance?

No. The reviewed Basic table shows zero included minutes.

What matters for very short calls?

The FAQ rounds account activity up to whole minutes. Reconcile the provider’s billable activity with your own records.

Responsive is most usefully compared on rounded billable activity, allowance and setup—not its $29 headline alone.
