Turn off forwarding
Turn off call forwarding and restore incoming calls
Turning off call forwarding is a rollback task. If calls still fail to reach the original phone, distinguish a forwarding setting from other restrictions before changing additional settings.
01 / Turn off forwarding
Identify the route you need to undo.
Record the provider, line type and forwarding condition that was enabled. Immediate forwarding, conditional forwarding and phone-system routing can have separate controls. Use the current instructions for that service; a code for another carrier is not a reliable reset.
For supported Verizon wireless forwarding, the official deactivation instructions specify *73 and the provider’s confirmation steps. The separate Verizon and T-Mobile setup guides cover their documented controls. For a hosted business system or fixed line, use its administrator or provider instructions.
02 / Turn off forwarding
Test ringing and voicemail after the change.
Use an authorized call from another number to check that the original phone receives the call. Then test the intended no-answer and voicemail behavior. A confirmation tone or saved setting does not substitute for checking what the caller actually reaches.
If the call still reaches an answering destination, record the observed behavior and ask the provider to check the active route. Avoid guessing additional codes or routing a destination back to the starting number. Keep the business’s temporary callback process clear while the provider resolves the configuration.
03 / Turn off forwarding
Check restrictions when forwarding is already off.
Verizon’s official guidance tells users who still cannot receive calls to check restrictions such as Do Not Disturb, blocking and apps that limit incoming calls. Review the relevant settings for the device and service without assuming a forwarding reset resolves them.
If the problem persists, contact the provider with the test result, affected line and time of the test. Do not publish customer call details or transfer credentials. Once the original route works, review any later Revo routing change as a separate authorized configuration and test it again.
Common questions
Make the next step clear.
Resolve the details that matter to your team and callers.
Is there a universal code to turn forwarding off?
No. Use the official method for the provider, line type and condition. Verizon’s documented wireless *73 method must not be generalized to every carrier.
Why might calls still fail after forwarding is off?
Other device, account or app restrictions may affect incoming calls. Check applicable settings and contact the provider with the observed test results.
